Later, Oanh competed in the 5,000m and she finished first in a time of 16min 23.17sec, setting her seasonal best.

Bui Thi Loan took the third gold for Viet Nam in the women's triple jump with a result of 13.7m.

Chan Shannon Vera and Kam Zuen Wa of Hong Kong were the two runners-up.

Loan also took bronze in the long jump with a leaf of 6.01m. And the last bronze went to former SEA Games winner Bui Thi Nguyen in the women's 100m hurdles.
