Top leader calls on countrymen to donate blood

VGP – Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong on Thursday called on all Vietnamese people to actively join voluntary blood donation as many patients are in serious need of this “special” medicine.

This year marks the 20^th anniversary of the voluntary blood donation movement initiated by the Government on April 7, 2000.

In 2018, blood banks received 1.4 million blood units from one fourth of the population, according to Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation Mobilization./.
